Child Care

Creating a family-friendly climate at URI must include child care concerns. Increasing the availability of on-campus child care is currently being addressed by the Women’s Center, ADVANCE, and the President’s Commission on the Status of Women.

However, this facility usually has a waiting list. In addition, we offer a list of questions that should be asked when considering appropriate day care and ADVANCE’s Virtual Work-Life-Family Center offers the following list of childcare agencies in the local and surrounding areas.

Options for Working Parents is also, providing lists of child care options available in Rhode Island. Options for Working Parents will help you make informed choice, one that will lead to a healthy, safe, and nurturing enviroment for your child.

Choosing the right cildcare is an important decision. The National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) is providing the best possible resources related to early childhood education to support your professional development. NAEYC has the materials you need, with useful research and practical information about early childhood development and learning.
