Meet with an Exploring/Undeclared Advisor and your URI 101 Instructor for initial guidance and resources.

Start to examine the list of possible majors and minors

Use free personality assessments like TypeFocus and interest inventories like Strong. Interpret with an advisor.

Step 4 Find a Friend

Or Professional in the career(s) you are considering and ask them questions or shadow them to learn more.

Step 8 Research

Do some background work on possible occupations that fit with your potential major using the links here , here and here

Step 7 Give it a Shot

Sit in on or take a class for the major in which you are most interested as a trial before officially declaring.  Seeing is believing.

Step 6 Self Reflection

Enroll in UCS270 to soul search, and decide what is the best fit for YOU and YOUR passions

Step 5 Study

The curriculum of the desired major(s) to see what classes are required.  Use the online course catalog and majors page.
