On January 30, 2019, SIDP president Kerry LaPlante spoke to the Presidential Advisory Council on Combating Antibiotic-Resistant Bacteria (PAC CARB) urging the council to prioritize promoting the development of new antibiotics and protect existing ones. She also advocated for the inclusion of an infectious diseases pharmacist on the Advisory Council.
