Biography

Kathy Quick is a full-time lecturer at the University of Rhode Island in the Department of Art and Art History.  Along with her bachelor’s degree in fine arts, Professor Quick has earned several other degrees including two master’s degrees and a Ph.D. from Brown University.

Her dissertation titled, The Narrative Document: Lewis Hine and ‘Social Photography,’ dealt with Hine’s work for the National Child Labor Committee (NCLC) in the early twentieth century. Currently, Professor Quick is preparing an article for publication on the impact of statistical analysis on Hine’s child labor photographs.
