Grand Challenge Fellow Mentors plan their courses with assessment in mind! (Spring 2011): Faculty gathered to plan ahead for program assessment of the second round of their Grand Challenge courses as well as share tips and tools for supporting their Mentee faculty who are planning their first round of courses this fall 2011. Workshops provided an assessment toolkit designed to help Mentors and Mentees think about shared assignments with their collaborative courses. This information will provide measures of student learning across Grand Challenge courses. Grand Challenge courses are a unique initiative of the General Education program at URI. Workshops were sponsored by the Subcommittee on Assessment of General Education (SAGE) and SLOAA. Take a look at current and future Grand Challenge courses.
More information about assessment of the Grand Challenge program is provided in the University College and General Education (UCGE) SAGE Grand Challenge Initiative Assessment Report for Fall 2010 (4/5/11), and in the Grand Challenge Initiative General Education Task Force Presentation to the Faculty Senate (5/12/11).
