Congratulations to James Blair, a PhD candidate in marketing, for taking top honors at the 2016 Faculty Development in International Business (FDIB) Globalization Workshops event in June at Georgia State University in Atlanta.

Focused on sharing cutting-edge practices in teaching international business, the event involved 12 selected poster presentations. Blair received the “Best Poster Presentation Award,” including a $1,000 prize, for his presentation entitled “Incorporating Practical Experiences into Global Marketing Courses.” His research provided classroom resources that global marketing instructors can use to give students more practical experiences to simulate future work environments. The event was hosted by CIBER (Center for International Business Education and Research) and the competition was sponsored by Emerald Group Publishing.

This fall, Blair will teach a marketing research course and he expects to graduate in the Spring 2018. Before coming to the University of Rhode Island, Blair had earned a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Dayton, a Bachelor of Business Administration (Business Economics, Business Pre-Law, and Finance) and a Bachelor of Recreation and Sport Sciences (Sport Management) from Ohio University in Athens, OH.

Congratulations on this honor, Jim!
