Joseph Estrella is currently a professor in Supply Chain/Operations Management at the University of Rhode Island. Joe is also the President of IDGAF Consulting and serves on the Board of Advisors of Nomadron, Inc.
Prior to joining URI, Joe served over 11 years as the Director of Transportation & Logistics Network at CVS Health. CVS Health is the largest retail pharmacy chain in the U.S. with sales of more than $100 Billion. He developed an expertise in change management through his extensive experience in integrating the operations of CVS acquisitions and mergers. In his past role, Joe was responsible for Inbound Operations, Outbound Operations (store deliveries), Freight Payment, Supplier Compliance, Safety, and Cargo Claims. He was also responsible for a delivery network of 19 Distribution Centers and more than 7,200 stores in 44 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico. Prior to joining CVS, Joe served seven years as Director of Distribution and Transportation for Staples, Inc. and 15 years in Operations, Sales, and Labor Relations with Roadway Express.
Joe has spoken at numerous industry conferences dealing with Supply Chain Management and Transportation Management. Joe earned a B.S. in Industrial Relations at the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth, and a Juris Doctor from the New England School of Law in Boston.
Prior to his present position, Joe was also an adjunct professor in Supply Chain Management at URI, and served as the Chairman of the URI SCM Advisory Committee. Joe is a decorated U.S. Marine Corps veteran who served with the infantry in Viet Nam. Joe is a member of NASSTRAC and served as their President from 2009-2011. Joe is also a member of CSCMP, the American Bar Association, and the Massachusetts Bar Association.
