Aquatic Fitness


Senior Water Exercise

(During Winter Intercessions, class times will change during Revised Facility Hours).

This is a safe non-jarring water aerobics exercise program which improves stamina, strength and flexibility. These programs are designed to meet the needs of individuals over the age of 55 years. This class consists of a full-hour of water exercise using a variety of aquatic exercise equipment, music and movements designed to work each muscle and joint.

Mondays / Wednesdays / Fridays 9:30 – 10:25 a.m.

Note: During Revised Facility Hours, class times will be reduced.  Participants will be notified by the instructor in advance.

Fall Semester: September 8th – January 16th, 2015

SWE A: September 8th – October 17th, 2014
SWE B: October 20th – November 26th, 2014
SWE C: December 1st, 2014 – January 16th, 2015

Spring Semester: January 21st – May 8th, 2015

SWE D:  January 21st – February 20th, 2015
SWE E:  February 23rd – April 3rd, 2015
SWE F:  April 6th- May 8th, 2015

Summer Semester: May 18th – July 31st, 2015

SWE G:  May 18th – June 26th, 2015
SWE H:  June 29th – July 31st, 2014 – Class meets at 7:00am & 8:00am

Tuesdays / Thursdays 12:15 – 1:00 p.m.
This is a fast-paced class which provides a challenging cardiovascular workout. Water provides extra resistance on the muscles and also reduces the impact of movements on the joints. No swimming skills required. This class can accommodate beginners and advanced participants.

As a benefit of membership, URI Students and facility members receive discounted rates on many program offerings such as: learn to swim lessons; certification classes (first-aid, CPR, AED instructional classes); locker service and special events.
