Tootell Aquatic Center (TAC)

Memberships and Daily Swim Passes

Pool Membership / Passes

TAC Pool Memberships and daily swim passes may be purchased at the Mackal Rec Service Center. During the academic year, URI students are admitted free of charge by presenting a current valid student ID card (URI Full-time, matriculating students are automatically assessed a Rec Fee on their tuition bill. URI Employees and alumni holding a Rec or Platinum Pass Membership may use the Aquatic Center by presenting their valid Membership card. All other individuals are required to purchase a daily swim pass or a Tootell Aquatic Center (TAC) pool membership. URI students must have paid the summer Rec Fee to utilize the facility from May – August.

 

Pool Membership Pass Fees

TAC Pool Members and daily swim pool passes entitles the bearer to utilize ONLY the Tootell Aquatic Center and locker rooms. Other facilities within the Mackal-Keaney-Tootell Complex are not included unless the patron has a full Rec Complex membership.  All patrons using the Tootell Aquatic Center will need to stop at the TAC Scanning Station on the pool deck and provide a membership ID or daily swim pass to our Pool Attendant. Rates are not pro-rated!

Daily Swim pass: $5.00 per person per swim (no in/out privileges)

*Appropriate identification may be required.

** A family is defined as immediate family members only (partner and children
under the age of 18)

***Extended family is defined as immediate family members and two additional adults at the same address

 

Please Note:  There is a $20.00 fee for all returned checks.

The Department of Campus Recreation policy is that NO CREDIT will be given for lost time due to unforeseen emergencies and/or maintenance problems.

 

Lock & Locker Service

URI students, Rec, Platinum, and TAC Members (except daily pool pass holders) are entitled to rent locks and lockers on a daily, 3, 6, or 12 month basis. Please see attendant at the Rec Service Center in Mackal Lobby. All other patrons are responsible for supplying their own towels and locks.

 

Membership Discounts / Benefits

As a benefit of membership, URI Students; Rec Pass and/or TAC Pool members receive discounted rates on many program offerings such as: learn to swim lessons; certification classes (first-aid, CPR, AED instructional classes); locker service and special events. Members will also receive priority registration for aquatic programs (on-line and in-person). Find out more by calling the Rec Service Center at 874-5926.

 

Child Supervision Statement

During community swim times, a parent or guardian of children under 12 years of age must remain in the aquatic/spectator area while their child(ren) uses the pool. Children under 7 years of age must be supervised by their parent or guardian who must be suited to swim and on the pool deck. Children 4 years and under must be accompanied in the water on a one-to-one basis by their parent/guardian. Children using approved floatation devices must be supervised by an adult within one arms distance from the child. Inflatables (such as water-wings; Styrofoam bubbles or floats sewn into bathing suits) are not allowed.
