Fitness & Wellness is dedicated to offering programs for the students of URI, but we are also committed to offering programs that are suited for the Rec Pass, Fitwell and Platinum members. We value your participation in our program and want to continue to grow our program offerings to aid in the well-being of the URI staff and promote a healthy campus. FitWell Program Calendar: March – May
Various special events, including competitions, themed classes, incentive programs and fitness challenges are delivered at different times of the year to keep students and members engaged and motivated. Specialty/Custom classes and programs are available upon request. ASK A TRAINER: We all have questions about how to change up our routine, nutrition or how to use a machine in the gym, so there will be Personal Trainers available on the floor at Mackal and Fascitelli for members to ask questions or to assist in an exercise routine. SPIN ACROSS AMERICA: April 30th – April 25th, Fascitelli Fitness & Wellness Center, Spin Studio
Can you make the trek? Log your miles after each spin class to make it across America & compete for prizes.
GET UP & GO: Wednesday, April 29th, 12 Noon (Rain date: Friday, May 1st). Join us for a 5K walk route on Campus. Route will begin on the Quad and welcome to all.
March 26th: Sleep for Success – Find out how sleep, or lack of it affects your daily life in college and beyond.
April 9th: Know your Baseline – Do you know what a healthy blood pressure is? Find out what yours is by getting a baseline screening.
April 23rd: Managing Stress in College – Stress can wreak havoc on your body. How do YOU manage stress? Get smart tips on coping with stress in college.
Upon request a workshop can be designed to meet your group’s interest in health, fitness or wellness. Topic may include: how to eat healthy, how to start an exercise program, how to fit exercise into your busy life, the seven dimensions of wellness, how do I know I’m at risk and much more. URI Employee Program Icon is a symbol that will be used to identify: Fitness & Wellness programs, group classes, events, or specials that would be of interest to individuals who work or are affiliated with the University work force.
The icon identifies programs based on:
- Program Content
- Topic of Interest
- Class level is appropriate for fitness level
- The time of the event, class or program
- Length of the class, event or program
- Members can attend free of charge
