Fitness & Wellness is dedicated to offering programs for the students of URI, but we are also committed to offering programs that are suited for the Rec Pass, Fitwell and Platinum members. We value your participation in our program and want to continue to grow our program offerings to aid in the well-being of the URI staff and promote a healthy campus. Various special events, including competitions, themed classes, incentive programs and fitness challenges are delivered at different times of the year to keep students and members engaged and motivated. Specialty/Custom classes and programs are available upon request. BABY BOOMER FITNESS: Baby Boomer Promotional Offer is back! Don’t miss out on this program designed specifically for people new to exercise or have been away from a regular fitness routine for a while.
URI FACULTY & STAFF JANUARY WORKOUT CHALLENGE: Challenge yourself and get involved in fitness. We have programs that are close to home and close to work.
INSIDE OUT WEEK: The 3rd Annual Inside Out Week at Anna Fascitelli Fitness and Wellness Center begins 2/13 and goes until 2/17. This week is geared toward celebrating being Be-YOU-tiful. Take the time to visit our event and challenge your perspective on what it means to think and feel from the inside out.
THIRSTY THURSDAYS: Come and join us on Thursdays from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. at the Wellness Resource Center located in the Anna Fascitelli Fitness & Wellness Center for FREE smoothies, valuable information on nutrition, health, wellness and more.
RHODY REC RUNNING: Come join us every Friday at 5:00 p.m. for a group run leaving from the Mackal Field House. The groups primary purpose and vision is to allow runners of all endurance levels, paces, distances and running experience to run together in a non-competitive atmosphere and to get to know each other through a variety of social activities. Registration is not required but the group leaves Mackal promptly at 5:00 p.m. Please check out our group exercise schedule for additional runs.
RHODY COMBAT: Foam fighting power hour held in the Tootell Studio every Wednesdays, 11:15 a.m. Beginning January 25th throughout the Spring semester.
HIT THE CLUB: Wednesday, February 8th there will be a DJ on the Mackal Cardio Center floor to give you a DJ Night Workout with great music and light show!

MIND MUSCLE CONNECTION: Opportunity is knocking, Campus Recreation is looking for 10 female URI Students, willing to discover the connection and rewards of building strong, minds and strong bodies.
Upon request a workshop can be designed to meet your group’s interest in health, fitness or wellness. Topic may include: how to eat healthy, how to start an exercise program, how to fit exercise into your busy life, the seven dimensions of wellness, how do I know I’m at risk and much more. URI Employee Program Icon is a symbol that will be used to identify: Fitness & Wellness programs, group classes, events, or specials that would be of interest to individuals who work or are affiliated with the University work force.
The icon identifies programs based on:
- Program Content
- Topic of Interest
- Class level is appropriate for fitness level
- The time of the event, class or program
- Length of the class, event or program
- Members can attend free of charge
