Fitness & Wellness Specialist

I have been a group ex instructor since classes were simply called “aerobics”, and have grown and developed as a teacher and mentor, right along with the industry.  I love learning new techniques and trends, and believe the best workout plan is a varied one.  I like to “mix it up”, am always game to try something new and different, and LOVE seeing new faces taking that leap and attending class for the first time!    As a URI graduate with an MS in education, my passion lies in helping others learn.  In addition to teaching a variety of fitness class formats, I am here to help students develop their careers as group ex instructors.  My office is located in the Wellness Resource Center (lower level of the Anna Fascitelli Fitness and Wellness Center) – please stop in and let me know what YOU think of our program!

I fell in love with biking as a little girl and would always go on long bike rides with my Dad. Every summer, my Dad and I take a long bike trip together. Two year ago, we got matching bike tattoos on our calves along the Erie Canal. I am so excited to be an instructor and can’t wait to interact, motivate and have fun working out together!

I have my Bachelor of Science in kinesiology from URI with a minor in nutrition and am currently in my second year of the Doctor of Physical Therapy program.  I enjoy many types of exercise, particularly spin and cardio kickboxing. I am a senior at URI double majoring in public relations and communication studies. I have been a certified instructor for Les Mills Body Pump since December of 2015. I have loved the class for years and wanted to inspire and encourage others through group fitness the way previous URI instructors have done for me. I am a very social individual that enjoys connecting with others and making sure each person feels comfortable and confident in their workout. If you feel like sweating it out while making a few friends along the way, stop in and see what it’s all about!

Come join me on this journey of movement, workout, and song all in one. Hope to see you there!

I love to mix it up and keep the participants challenged. You’ll leave class happy and sweaty!!

Hi everyone! My name is Nick and I have been teaching group exercise for 5 years, and martial arts for 10. I love to let loose in class, and unleash all the energy that I have on a workout to make it fun, challenging, and bring my participants to a level of fitness that they never dreamed possible. Come to my classes to work harder than you ever have before, and maybe have a few laughs in the process too!

I been teaching and practicing a vinyasa flow style of yoga for more than 10 years. This fall, I earned my 200 hour RYT with Live Love Teach and hold certifications in YogaFit and CorePower Yoga.  I currently teach a weekly power yoga class at the University of Rhode Island and am part of a developing teacher training program at Rhode Island Power Yoga in North Kingstown.  Since completing my training, I exclusively teaches the LLT practice, which is grounded in pranayama, or breath management. It embraces yogis at all stages, from beginner to experienced, and can be modified to suit everybody AND every body. The practice synchronizes breath and movement in a unique format, and instills a focus and flow that will follow you off the mat and into daily life.
