Prior to accepting this position, I have eight years training military personal in tactical, functional and physical performance at Naval Station Newport. I have been a group ex instructor since classes were simply called “aerobics”, and have grown and developed as a teacher and mentor, right along with the industry. I love learning new techniques and trends, and believe the best workout plan is a varied one. I like to “mix it up”, am always game to try something new and different, and LOVE seeing new faces taking that leap and attending class for the first time! As a URI graduate with an MS in education, my passion lies in helping others learn. In addition to teaching a variety of fitness class formats, I am here to help students develop their careers as group ex instructors. My office is located in the Wellness Resource Center (lower level of the Anna Fascitelli Fitness and Wellness Center) – please stop in and let me know what YOU think of our program!

SCOTT My name is Scott and I love movement. I am currently a junior year mechanical engineer, personal trainer, GroupX instructor for handstands and creative movements, behavior change specialist, leader of Make a Change Monday, and creator/President of URI Flow. Life is about cultivating awareness and self confidence of mind and body. Free expression of the self and the progressive realization of worthy ideals is a fantastic pathway to happiness and an enjoyable life. All expression is created through movement. All movement and worthy ideals are spawn in the psychic energy of the mind. Cherish your mind and body, treat them as the temples they are, watch as your perception of reality changes before your eye and listen to the symphony they create together through self expression. Get up, think, move, imagine, and create the life your heart desires.
