Summer Sailing Lessons

For the summer 2016 season we are offering beginner, intermediate and advanced sailing lessons to the general public. Beginners are taught the basics of sailing from rigging and launching to steering and boat handling to finally sailing solo. A fleet of 12 ft. Tech dinghies is used for novice sailors.  Intermediate sailors use 14 ft. Flying Junior sloops and are taught more advanced boat handling techniques and use of the spinnaker. Our advanced class is taught in Laser sailboats and learn the art of racing. Sailing lessons for children (ages 10-12) and youths (ages 13-16) are also available during the summer months. New this year will be a full day program called REACH which uses sailing as the medium to teach Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) skills as well as learning to sail. Also new to the program this year will be kayaking for kids and adults.
