Position: Advising Intern

Type of Experience: Internship (for credit), Internship (volunteer)

Level of Student: Undergraduate

Duration of program/position? (semester, academic year, summer, varies, etc.): Varies

Average # of hours per position per week: Varies by credit / availability

Average number of positions available per program: 4-10 depending on need

Position Description:
• Serve as an energetic and enthusiastic volunteer to help UCAS students succeed at URI
• Develop and maintain relationships with and provide assistance and support for UCAS students
• Participate in training, programs and activities
• Attend and participate in all training sessions and team meetings
• Serve as a positive role model and knowledgeable guide for new students.
• Provide access to people and resources: AEC, Career Services, Counseling Center, Writing Center
• Participate in social media interactions (Facebook and Instagram)
• Work both independently and as part of a team with fellow Peer Interns and Advisors
• Understand and abide by all URI policies.
• Maintain confidentiality with any shared information.
• Coordinate and facilitate social and educational programs as desired or needed.
• Participate in formal evaluations and assessments of the program.
• Participate in and complete all other tasks deemed necessary by the Supervision Team
