Position: Career Closet Intern

Position Description:
Career Closet Intern will work between CCEE and TD to assist scholars in purchasing their first suit for an interview. Interns will work with local clothing vendors to negotiated purchases of suits and follow up on purchase orders. The students will create a “what to wear” section on the CCEE website and generate materials to help all URI students learn how to purchase a first suit. Students will have an opportunity to organize a fashion show.

Learn how to work with diverse clients, Understand how to purchase suits from local vendors, Create inviting textile displays in the closet to provide students with examples of what wear, Design and draft web materials, Organized and execute a fashion show. [/themify_box]

Position Description:
Responsible for assessment projects throughout UCAS. Administer survey of recent graduates and draft individual DGC reports on results. Assist ITR internship program in mid term and final evaluation implementation and summarize results.

Position Learning Outcomes:
Learn what each unit is responsible for and how to assess their needs. Generate concise reports for each DGC. Research best practices and trends in academic and career advising, tutoring, transfer services, and new student programs. [/themify_box]

Position Description:
Alternative Spring Break trips are not a vacation. Through this program students gain the opportunity to look at the local and global community critically through acts of service, activism, and leadership. The trip offers a real-life immersion into the social, economic, political, and cultural issues that affect our country today. This is an out of the classroom experience that facilitates critical thinking and problem-solving skills that can be integrated into academia and the community.

Position: URI Service Corps Trip Leader

Position Description:
Student Leaders are required to plan a service-learning trip to take place during the academically scheduled Spring Break. This planning includes scheduling service days with organizations, fundraising and budgeting, securing housing, recruiting participants, and post-trip activities. Education and theme are at the core of the program. The Student Leader role takes a considerable amount of time and effort and the commitment should not be taken lightly. Qualifications. The Student Leader must: Be past ASB participant Be able to make a 1-2 year commitment Agree to fulfill all responsibilities (See Below) Have leadership skills/leadership potential Have passion and understanding of service Work well with a team Responsibilities. The Student Leader will work with other Student Leaders to: Thoughtfully select trip theme and location Gather general information on transportation (flight cost) Secure housing and service sites Create week itinerary including travel, service, and fun days Advertise and recruit for the trip Organize and participate in fundraising Have continuing professional communication with organizations Be present in and construct a selective application process for student participants Make final decisions on participants Attend the ASB trip in the role of a leader Know when to step-up and step-back Have a high morale Stay calm, cool, and collected Connect with Participants Empower students, highlight strengths Communicate regularly during summer planning, meet weekly during fall and spring semesters Know when to ask for assistance Be educated about service/service sites Make sure all students are accounted for physically and emotionally Plan and attend all pre-trip and post-trip meetings Fulfill all responsibilities of Student Participant as well [/themify_box]
