The employer relations team offers a variety of options to engage students and alumni. As the flagship institution for the state of Rhode Island, URI is at the leading edge of research and academic talent. Our students are diverse, hardworking, and represent over 100 majors. With over 15,000 undergraduates, URI serves as a destination school for countless employers.
Fairs and Networking Events
The employer relations team is committed to helping you increase brand awareness to our students and alumni. An ideal way to connect is face to face at our events including career fairs, networking events, volunteer fairs, professional development week, and meet and greets.
On Campus Interviewing
We welcome you to come to campus to conduct interviews with our talented students and alumni. If you are interested in interviewing candidates on campus, please email a member of the employer relations team. A minimum of 4 weeks is beneficial to ensure a seamless process.
During the month of January students enroll in a RI travel course where they spend a full day job shadowing employers and alumni. If you would like to be involved in hosting the travel class, please contact Kim Stack, firstname.lastname@example.org.
Alumni employers are an incredible resource for our students. If you would like to serve as a mentor for our currently enrolled students, please contact Audra Lavoie, email@example.com.
Business Engagement Center
The Business Engagement Center (BEC) serves as the “front door” for industry to connect with the vast resources that exist at URI. Companies – from entrepreneurial startups to major corporations – use the services of the Center to sponsor research opportunities, access assistance with technology or intellectual property transfer, seek information about licensing, receive customized workforce training, and connect with undergraduate and graduate students for internships, as well as other essential services to help business thrive.
