Student affairs advisor wins top award

Dana Behuniak, CELS student affairs advisor, has been awarded the coveted Richard F. Stevens Outstanding Graduate Student Award for Rhode Island, it was announced recently.

Behuniak ‘s award came through the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators Region 1 organization. She was nominated for the award by her program advisor here are URI and also at Roger Williams University where she is doing an internship.

Commenting on the award, Kimberly Anderson, assistant dean of student affairs,  said “Dana provides outstanding service to CELS students, faculty and staff.  She is a great addition to the Student Affairs Profession.  I am pleased to see that she has been acknowledged for her contributions to the URI community. She will be an asset to the student affairs profession.”

Behuniak, a resident of Mystic, CT., will get her masters in the spring in human development and family studies with a concentration in college student personnel.
