Thupten Tendhar was ordained by the Dalai Lama in 1998. He was a Tibetan Buddhist monk for over twenty years. He received his Geshe degree in Buddhist studies from Drepung Monastic University, and a PhD in Education from URI.

URI Buddhist students may approach him for:

  • Questions about Buddhism
  • Meditation
  • Inner Peace events
  • Nonviolence and Peace
  • Buddhist monks and scholars
