Biography

Qingyu Yang’s professional background is in teaching Chinese as a second language and exploring the fields of blended Chinese teaching methods and proficiency-based teaching. Before coming to URI, she was a visiting professer at Brandeis University, where she earned her MA. In her academic career, Yang has taught different levels of Chinese at the University of Science and Technology Beijing and in programs such as the CET summer program in Beijing. Besides teaching multiple levels of Chinese at URI, Yang also manages the university’s HSK testing center, local outreach programs, and teaches calligraphy.
