College sweethearts Pamela Giron ’10 and Ryan Duffy ’10 have URI to thank for their upcoming nuptials. The couple met in front of the Memorial Union in 2006 during the first week of freshman year. On July 23, 2012, six years after their initial encounter, Ryan popped the question in front of Pamela’s favorite lighthouse, located in the Castle Hill area of Newport, RI. Pamela and Ryan will be tying the knot on March 16, 2013, a day that not only solidifies their love, but one that falls only a day shy of their favorite holiday, St. Patrick’s Day. The wedding will be held at their hometown church, St. Mary’s in Cranston, RI, with a celebration to follow at Belle Mer, located only a stone’s throw away from the place of their engagement. The entire weekend, full of “I do’s” and leprechaun garb, will be shared by friends and family, and many URI alumni as well.

The Mennerich family in Colorado

The Mennerich family got together at the Scottish Festival in Estes Park, Colorado in , September, 2008. College sweethearts, Gregory Chapin ’05 from Wallingford, Connecticut and Jennifer Conley ’06 from North Kingstown, Rhode Island were married on August 28, 2010 at the Newport Yachting Center, Newport, Rhode Island.

Gina Dei Simonelli ’01, M.S. ’03 welcomes son Jase


Gina Dei Simonelli ’01, M.S. ’03 and her husband, Eric Simonelli, welcomed their first child, Jase Domenic, on May 26, 2011. Gina is an assistant director in URI’s Alumni Relations Office and Eric is an admission advisor in URI’s Office of Admission.

Caity Fair ’07 (international business and Italian) and Brian MacDonald ’09 (pharmacy) were married on August 6, 2011 at Kinney Bungalow in Narragansett with lots of URI alumni friends and family (pictured above) in attendance.

Jacin Page ’03 and Patrick Fitzgerald ’03 were married on September 25, 2010 in Guilford, Conn. They met at URI and had several Rhody alums in their wedding party, including Philip DeCandido ’03 (3rd to last groomsman in back) and Jonathan Hill ’03 (second groomsman back from right). This photo was taken in Jacin’s family’s hardware store, where she worked when she was growing up.
