Apply now to be the 2024 Commencement student speaker for your college ceremony!

Applications are being accepted from all graduates (undergraduate and Graduate School students) to be the 2024 Commencement student speaker at each college ceremony. Selected speakers will receive the distinguished honor of sharing their experience and unique Rhody perspective with classmates, faculty and thousands of guests.

To apply, please email the following information to events@uri.edu, no later than before midnight (11:59 p.m.) on April 15, 2024. :

1.       Which college ceremony you are applying to be considered for the student speaker role.

2.       In 1 paragraph, briefly describe why you wish to be selected as the student speaker for the 2024 commencement ceremonies.

3.       A resume that highlights your leadership and involvement at URI

4.       A copy of your intent to graduate form or unofficial transcript.

5.       A commencement speech, which should be 3 minutes in length, 12 pt. font, and double spaced.

6.       Submit in PDF form to events@uri.edu
