In the event of rain on Sunday, May 17 the main commencement ceremony (and the College of Arts and Sciences’ ceremony) will be moved from the Quad to the Ryan Center. Rain or shine, all other college ceremonies will be held as scheduled at their designated locations.
If the rain plan is to be implemented, the decision will be made in the early morning, and information will be available here, on the URI home page and on automated phone lines (401.874.7669 and 401.874.1000). Signs will also be posted at all campus entrances.
Two rain tickets for main commencement ceremony: Every bachelor’s degree recipient will receive two guest rain tickets for the main commencement ceremony that are required for entry into the Ryan Center. We regret that in the event of rain, due to space constraints, graduate degree recipients cannot attend the main commencement ceremony.
Guests with college ceremony tickets: If the main commencement ceremony is held in the Ryan Center, other guests should go to the individual college ceremony locations. Children two years of age and older must have a ticket and must be seated at the college ceremony. The main ceremony will be simulcast to these locations as well as to the Swan Hall lobby and the Memorial Union, Ram’s Den.
