URI Chinese character recognition contest

CI at URI works together with URI Chinese Flagship program and URI languages department to run the Chinese Character Recognition Contest. The contest is focused on character formation, meaning, pronunciation, and overall recognition. The contest is exciting and interesting in its design. Participants play Chinese word games such as using radicals to make up as many characters as they can, recognizing characters in the shortest time, finding out mistakenly used characters in a context, etc.

The contest is usually run in mid-spring. Registration starts from the beginning of the spring semester.
