Association on Higher Education and Disability (AHEAD)
AHEAD is an international, multicultural organization of professionals committed to full participation in higher education for persons with disabilities. The Association is a vital resource, promoting excellence through education, communication and training.
This site includes information from the New England ADA Technical Assistance Center about ADA Accessibility, Adaptive Environments, and Universal Design. It also has links to many universal design and ADA resources.
U.S Department of Justice ADA Homepage
The ADA prohibits discrimination on the basis of disability in employment, programs and services provided by state and local governments, goods and services provided by private companies, and in commercial facilities.
ADA Technical Assistance

National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research (NIDRR)
The United States Department of Education’s Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services (OSERS), through its National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research (NIDRR), conducts comprehensive and coordinated programs of research and related activities to maximize the full inclusion, social integration, employment, and independent living of disabled individuals of all ages.
The Interagency Committee on Disability Research (ICDR)
A Federal Government agency that seeks to promote coordination and cooperation among Federal departments and agencies conducting rehabilitation research programs. The ICDR seeks to identify, assess, and coordinate all Federal programs, activities, and projects, and plans for such programs, activities, and projects with respect to the conduct of research related to rehabilitation of individuals with disabilities. To receive input from individuals with disabilities and/or their representatives in pursuance of its mission; and submit an annual report to the President and to appropriate committees of the Congress on recommendations with respect to coordination of policy and the development of objectives and priorities for all Federal agencies related to disability and rehabilitation research.
