FAQs: e-Campus, Email and Sakai
e-Campus is the administrative system that students can use to access their records, register for courses, check bills and other financial information, look at grades, transcripts, etc.
You will choose a userid and password, which you will register with e‐Campus; click on the link First Time Users Register Here. Once you have chosen a userid and password , you will be able to use e‐Campus. This is the userid you will continue to use. If you have problems with your userid, contact the ITS Help Desk at 874‐HELP.
When you first sign on to e‐Campus, you choose a password. You will continue to use this password on e‐Campus until you change it.
You can request to have your e-Campus/email userid changed under the following circumstances only:
- a legal name change
- a court-ordered name change
If you are a student:
ITS refers all student requests to Enrollment Services for verification of documents related to the request.
If you are faculty or staff:
ITS refers all requests to Human Resources for verification of documents related to the request.
Once all requirements are met and the change is approved, e-Campus and any other necessary systems will be updated.
URI gives students, faculty and staff an official URI email account. Email from all University systems is sent to this email address only. You should be using it to conduct all University-related business and correspondence.
Your userid is your e-Campus ID.
Your initial password is your birthdate. Use 2 digits for month, 2 digits for day, and 4 digits for year. For example, February 4, 1976 would be 02041976.
The Sakai Collaboration and Learning Environment (CLE) is a free and open source Courseware Management System. It features a set of software tools designed to help instructors, researchers and students collaborate online in support of their work whether it be course instruction, research or general project collaboration.
Use your e‐Campus ID or your 9‐digit URI employee/student ID number.
If you are faculty or staff, use your @uri.edu email password. If you are a student, use your Wireless password.
