Teacher Education Scholar Program

The School of Education offers immediate acceptance into the Early Childhood (PreK-2), Elementary (1-6), Secondary (7-12), and Physical and Health Education (K-12) programs for students with a strong academic profile and a passion for education through the Teacher Education Scholar (TES)  program.

Teacher Education Scholars gain early access to their education program academic advisors.  Additionally, Teacher Education Scholars do not follow the traditional application process and timeline as they are already admitted to the School of Education.

Teacher Education Scholars have a strong commitment to:

  • academic excellence
  • working with children or adolescents
  • multicultural and diversity awareness
  • effective communication skills.

Criteria for TES Program Admission

Testing Options for Undergraduate Applicants
SATCritical Reading: 490
Math: 500
Writing: 480
(No composite required)
ACTReading: 21
Math: 20
English: 20 (or combined English/Writing score of 21)
(No composite required)

Required GPA (except for incoming freshmen)

  • 2.75 overall GPA
  • 2.75 content area GPA (secondary education only)
