The Committee to Eliminate Heterosexism and Homophobia was a group of URI faculty and staff focused on improving the URI campus climate for LGBTQ+ students. They held regular monthly or seasonal meetings throughout the ’90s and paved the way for the initial creation of the URI LGBTQ+ Center.
