Annie M. Kosar received her Bachelor’s degree in English with a Concentration in Creative Writing in 2000. She received her Master’s Degree in College Student Development and Counseling in 2007. Both of Annie M.’s degrees are from Northeastern University and she is proud to be a “double husky”. For the past 14 years, Annie M. has worked in the field of Higher Education and Student Affairs in various offices and departments, but always focused on her true passion of working with the LGBTQ and Ally campus communities in addition to Diversity programming. Annie M. strives to give back to the LGBTQ community, so that she can provide resources which help to keep students feeling valued and safe, resources that have not always been available historically. She has presented nationally about Spirituality, LGBTQ college students, and multiple intersecting identities and has a true passion for being inclusive and for assisting students as they explore their own identity development journeys and move towards empowerment. Annie M. has worked at a number of institutions including her alma mater, a practicum at Tufts University, UCLA, Bard College at Simon’s Rock and now has had the honor of joining the URI campus community as the Coordinator of LGBTQ Programs & Services and she hopes you will come by the URI Gender and Sexuality Center soon!
