Hometown: Budd Lake, New Jersey
Year: Class of 2018
Major: Biomedical Engineering

Given the great opportunity to attend the University of Rhode Island, Scott came with a determination to achieve great grades. Attempting a major such as biomedical engineering takes devout focus and he wasn’t sure he could join greek life at the same time; until he found a mentor. JT, an upperclassman greek leader recognized Scott on campus and sparked an ongoing conversation about time management, dedication, and commitment. After deciding to join recruitment, Scott developed his studious skills twice as fast. While also spending numerous hours on the library whiteboards, Scott earned leadership roles in his chapter and beyond such as Rush Class President, New Member Educator, Scholarship chair, Academic Affairs chair, VP/treasurer, IFC Academic Affairs, and Secretary for Order of Omega. Using the skills he has gained since recruitment, Scott has continued to bolster a great GPA every semester. The Fraternity Manager’s Association assists Scott with a scholarship to help reach his goal of graduation. After that day Barlow wants to use his education, “to connect the world with a state of the art medical device to help everyone that could possibly benefit from it”. The core value of scholarship is truly represented by Scott because he now uses his experience to inspire and encourage others to become the greatest student and greatest leader they can be.
