CSV 302-0014, “Stress Reduction for a Healthier Life”
Stress is the #1 health-related cause of academic difficulties researched by the American College Health Assoc(ACHA). This course, taken for 1-3 credits is devoted to current research regarding the effect of stress and how it impacts students’ health and well-being. It will focus on proven stress reduction techniques, i.e., body relaxation response, deep breathing, meditation, yoga, visualization and positive psychology. Students will participate in wellness activity/activities sponsored by URI Health Services/Education.
CSV 302-0016, “Health Behavior Change: What Every Body Needs”
This 1-3 credit course addresses the top 15 issues that affect college students and ways to enhance your college performance. This course responds to the health and wellness needs of our students. Accurate, current information on health and wellness management will be presented. Students will participate in wellness activity/activities sponsored by URI Health Services/Education.
CSV 302-0015, “Sense & Sexuality”
“…sexual health requires a positive and respectful approach to sexuality and sexual relationships, as well as the possibility of having pleasurable and safe sexual experiences, free of coercion, discrimination and violence” (WHO). This class, taken for 1-3 credits, will explore sexual attitudes and risk factors for the college student. Students will learn about sexually transmitted infections (STIs), birth control methods and reproduction. Students will participate in wellness activity/activities sponsored by URI Health Services/Education.
