Date: March 2014 (revised)
To establish a procedure to inform employees of the retirement program.
II. APPLICABLE TO:
All non-classified employees and faculty
As a condition of employment, non-classified employees and faculty must participate, after two years of employment if 30 years of age or over, in the RI Board of Governors’ Defined Contribution Retirement Plan.
Although the retirement program is explained in detail at the orientation meeting, new employees, who wish additional information or who have questions relative to the retirement program, are invited to visit the Office of Human Resource Administration, Employee Benefits Section, where a staff member will clarify any area not understood.
It is most important that employees who plan to retire contact the Office of Human Resource Administration, Employee Benefits Section, at least three (3) months in advance, to receive information concerning necessary procedures to effect benefits payments.
