By joining the International Engineering Program you are joining a community of scholars dedicated to applying engineering globally. Before joining the program, you must declare a major in an engineering discipline and a foreign language (Chinese, Italian, French, German or Spanish). To declare your language major bring the appropriate form to your academic advisor for signature: Students in University College | Students in the College of Arts & Sciences.
Please note that the International Engineering Program also provides administrative support for the International Business and International Computer Science programs. Students seeking to enroll in those programs should also complete this form.
Incoming Freshmen: All students accepted into the College of Engineering are eligible to enroll in the International Engineering Program. When you come to campus in the summer for URI orientation, you will meet with an engineering UC advisor to schedule your Fall classes. Your advisor will have paper IEP Enrollment Forms available at that time as well as Change of Majors forms so you can add your language major. At that time, your advisor will help you register for the appropriate language class in addition to your engineering classes.
IEP Advising: IEP students have two advisors: an engineering advisor for the B.S. in engineering, as well as an IEP language advisor for the language B.A. If you are in University College, you can contact IEP Coordinator Heather Price with advising questions. Once you are in the College of Engineering your IEP language advisor will be your IEP director. For clarification of whether you are in UC or COE, see the COE Find Your Advisor page.
