Pilot Student Training

The Pilot Student Training program is intended for supporting efforts to develop sustainable student training programs by tenure-track assistant professors with no past or current multi-year external research grant funding history at the primarily undergraduate institutions (Bryant University, Providence College, Rhode Island College, Roger Williams University, and Salve Regina University). Although research projects in all areas of biomedical sciences are considered, preference is given to those projects that are in the RI-INBRE Program focus areas of Cancer, Neuroscience, and Molecular Toxicology. Provided satisfactory progress is achieved, these investigators may apply for continued funding under the Early Career Development, Collaborative, Proposal Development, or SURF Training research support mechanisms.
