Undergraduate Research Opportunities

RI-INBRE offers research opportunities during the academic year to qualified undergraduate students enrolled at Bryant University, Providence College, Rhode Island College, Roger Williams University, and Salve Regina University. Selected students participate in Academic Year Research Fellowships at their home institution. Depending on institutional policy and the availability of funds, students might be entitled to receive academic credit or a modest stipend for their research experience.

Summer Research Fellowships are also available through the Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) Program. This program provides a paid, 10-week research experience participating in a hands on research project mentored by a faculty member. Summer research opportunities are available at the University of Rhode Island, Brown University, Bryant University, Providence College, Rhode Island College, Roger Williams University, and Salve Regina University.  Only students enrolled at Bryant University, Providence College, Rhode Island College, Roger Williams University, and Salve Regina University are eligible for the Summer Research Fellowships available at those institutions. However, any undergraduate student that is a US Citizen or has Permanent Resident status is eligible to apply for the Summer Research Fellowships available at the University of Rhode Island and Brown University.
