R.I. Foundation Awards 5 RI-INBRE Investigators

This round of seed funding for medical research projects was awarded to five RI-INBRE investigators! Jamie Towle-Weicksel, Ph.D. at R.I.  College ($20,566) for “DNA Polymerase Theta & its Potential Role in Cancer.” Four of our University of Rhode Island investigators: Arnob Dutta, Ph.D. ($25,000) for “Regulation of Trasscription by Mutant Swi/Snf Complexes,” Matthew Ramsey,  Ph.D. ($22,788) for “Identifying Bacterial Species in the Serum Microbiota of Type II Diabeties,” Daniel Roxbury ($25,000) for “A Carbon Nanotube Reporter to Quantify the Permeability of Tumor Spheriod Models,” and Yi Zheng, Ph.D, ($25,000) “Metamaterials-based Near-field Biosensing for Early Detection of Lung Cancer.”
