The city of Rennes is situated in the east of Brittany in north-western France. Rennes is the capital of the region of Brittany, as well as the Ille-et-Vilaine department. Rennes is a true college city with many private and public universities contributing to its academic culture. The city is full of small restaurants, cafes, museums and attractions of all kinds.
Rennes also claims the second largest “street market” welcoming visitors, tourist and study abroad students every Saturday morning. This city’s location is ideal for travel to the coast (Atlantic) and to Paris which is to its east.
