Globalization of Education

December 29, 2015 – January 13, 2016

In this program students will travel to North India (out of Delhi), Pune and Mumbai to observe manufacturing in large, medium and small factories, as well as a wide variety of cultural, religious, and historical sites, including temples, palaces, and forts. Participants can complete a course on Manufacturing Processes or Textile Production while enrolled in the program.

Students will enroll in ISE 240 (Manufacturing Processes), ISE 391 (Independent Study) or TMD 361 (Special Problems). Students registering for ISE 240 will be required to begin on-line classes prior to departure, and will be graded based on their performance in quizzes.

Students who register for ISE 391 will work with the instructor to write an independent report, and the grade will be based entirely on the report. Students enrolled in TMD 361 will work with a textiles and fashion merchandising instructor on content related to the course.

Course work will be supplemented with cultural excursions including: factory visits, visits to the Taj Mahal and Red Fort, and other cultural sites in North India, Pune and Mumbai.
