Clifford Katz, Ph.D.
Vice Provost, Academic Finances & Academic Personnel
Dr. Katz has served in the Office of the Provost since 1992 with responsibilities related to academic affairs finances and personnel. His academic training and experiences have been focused on ecology, marine ecology and statistics. He currently assists Provost Donald DeHayes with strategic planning and resource allocations, personnel decisions in the colleges and supporting units, and supervises Institutional Research.

Gary has worked at the University since 1977 in several capacities – marine research specialist at the Graduate School of Oceanography, lead programmer/analyst in Management Information Services, and senior information technologist in the Office of Institutional Research. Current OIR responsibilities include acquisition, analysis, and reporting of student data, consultation with client offices, and representation on university committees and with external groups. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Rhode Island and a Master of Science degree from Cornell University.

Veronica came to Institutional Research after completing functional project management activities associated with the University’s e-campus Human Resources Systems. Prior to that, Veronica was Assistant Commissioner for Finance and Management at the Rhode Island Office of Higher Education. Present responsibilities include: compilation and analysis of workload and other data describing instruction demographics and activities; support of Academic Program Review planning; and generation of comparative data for URI and peer institutions. She holds degrees in economics from Rhode Island College.
Jianyun(Christine) Liu: Senior Information Technologist, firstname.lastname@example.org, 401-874-4895
Christine joined the Institution Research at University of Rhode Island at the end of 2001. She currently holds the position of senior information technologist. Prior to joining URI, she worked as a software engineer at a software company in Atlanta Georgia. She holds a BA degree from a Chinese University and MS Science degree in Computer Information System from Georgia State University.
