CMT – Classroom Improvements – Fall 2010

1. Provost’s 52 Classroom Technology Install Project

Digital Media (DM) technology installation includes LCD projector mounted at ceiling and secured wall-mounted rack containing system controls for HDMI and VGA inputs and cables (for instructor’s laptop) and installed bluray video player. Rooms seating 50+ have ADA Assistive Listening System installed.

2. HDMI Upgrade

Installation included wiring and system controls added to existing VGA technology installations:

3. NOMAD upgrade to HDMI technology and new installation

Continuation of NOMAD installed classrooms similar to previous 7 classroom installs: ceiling-mounted LCD projector(s) and podium containing MacMini computers with Classpot and TeamSpot software, dvd/vhs player, and system controls for HDMI and VGA technology, including cables for instructor’s laptop and portable video player.

Accordent Presentation Capture is installed in Chafee 244 and Providence 317.

Video Conference equipment was updated in Chafee 101 and bluray player installed.

4. Champlin Grant – Chafee 208

Model faculty training classroom for NOMAD installed classroomss: ceiling-mounted LCD projector and podium containing MacMini computer with Classpot and TeamSpot software , dvd/vhs player, bluray video player, and system controls for HDMI and VGA technology, including cables for instructor’s laptop and portable video player.  Accordent Presentation Capture also installed .

 

5. Edwards Hall

Office of Capital Projects’ Fire Sprinkler System installation, with Lobby and Auditorium Renovations Project included new appearance of environment.

 

Classroom Improvements – Fall 2009

1. Edwards Auditorium

Installation consisted of LCD projector and screen, presentation podium with VGA system controls, and enhanced voice and program sound system.

2. Independence Square Kinesiology general assignment classrooms

Installation included ceiling-mounted projector, SP Controls with secured Smart Box containing vhs/dvd combination player, VGA system controls and cables for instructor’s laptop.

3. CBLS- Center for Biotechnology and Life Sciences

New building construction included 2 general assignment classrooms (GAC) and 14 lab VGA media technology installations.  GAC installations included 2 ceiling-mounted projectors, podium containing bluray player, MacMini computer, and VGA system controls for instructor’s laptop.  Presentation Capture also installed in CBLS 100. 3rd GAC no media technology installed.

Lab installations included ceiling-mounted projector and wall input panel for instructor laptop.

1. NOMAD Classroom installation

New Order Multi-Modal Advanced Design teacher training installed classrooms consisting of: ceiling-mounted LCD projector(s) and flat panel monitors, moveable furniture, and podium containing MacMini computers with Classpot and TeamSpot software, dvd/vhs player, and system controls for VGA technology, and cables for instructor’s laptop and portable video player.

(level 3 and 4) classrooms and tiered presentation theatre installed with SP Controls Smart Box containing vhs/dvd video combination player and VGA system controls for instructor’s laptop.

Classroom Improvements – Fall 2006

1. Swan Hall Renovation (formerly known as Independence Hall)

17 classrooms installed: (11) have with SP Controls Smart Box containing vhs/dvd video combination player and VGA system controls for instructor’s laptop; (6) SP Controls Smart Panel for portable  vhs/dvd video combination player and VGA system controls for instructor’s laptop.

Auditorium VGA technology removed for safety during renovation to facility and replaced.

2. 210 Flagg Road

11 classrooms installed with ceiling-ready infrastructure for projector to be mounted, Talk-Board white marker boards, and SP Controls Smart Panel system controls for instructor’s VGA laptop and portable video player.  (4) classrooms outfitted with ceiling-installed projectors.  This facility was used for classrooms while Independence Hall classrooms were under renovation.

The equipment listed below has been added, upgraded, or adjusted in the indicated general-assignment classrooms:

The Office of Academic Affairs has allocated funds to purchase computer/video projectors for media carts in the following rooms:

A 27-inch TV/DVD/Video Combination Playback unit has been allocated for Chafee Hall classrooms

Chafee 271 – Classroom and Honors Colloquium support:

  • new theatrical lighting control kit
  • new lapel and hand-held microphones
  • adjustments to sound system
  • adjustments to overflow of video and audio from Chafee 271 to Chafee 277 to accommodate audience in both rooms

  • a wall-plate computer input control panel has been added
  • video and audio playback capabilities have been added
  • new speakers have been installed

Chafee 275

  • a wall-plate computer input control panel has been added
  • video and audio playback capabilities have been added
  • new speakers have been installed
  • damaged rear-projection screen replaced with front-projection screen

Chafee 277

  • video and DVD playback devices for use with podium-controlled rear-projection system have been added to media rack
  • wired microphone and powered speaker for instructors have been added to the media rack

BioScience Auditorium

  • media consolidated and controlled by Crestron Remote Control Device has been installed at podium
  • Document camera has been added to podium instructor station
  • temporary board lighting has been installed to enhance illumination for Math instruction

BioScience 105A

  • track electrical outlet installed at projector table
  • new overhead projection screen
  • instructor access to projector improved by removal of one row of seats
  • seats relocated within the room to maintain seating capacity of 101
  • track and split lighting controls added to enhance projection environment

Fogarty 028

  • document camera added to instructor station in seamless classroom
  • smartboard, stationed CPU and laptop inputs, video and DVD playback devices, and wireless microphone for voice enhancement added to the media rack

Quinn Auditorium

  • temporary media rack replaced installed media rack during Quinn stage renovations
  • installed media rack will be replaced, pending completion of renovations

Quinn 211

  • wall-to-wall whiteboard installed as demonstration site for vendor material test

Ranger Auditorium

  • summer renovations included fixing leaks, replacing ceiling, and abating floor tile

Edwards Auditorium

  • wireless microphone system added for general-assignment classroom use
  • Other room improvements:

Library Galanti Lounge

  • 10,000 ansi lumens computer/video projector installed
  • wireless microphone added to existing sound system

Library 107

  • ceiling-mounted projector replaced and repaired
