ITS Training Topics

Feeling out of touch with technology? Would you like to learn more about URI’s Google Applications for Education or Sakai? The current ITS Training Topics are posted in the ITS techwiki by date and by topic. Most sessions do not require registration!

In-classroom instruction takes place in Chafee 208. Online sessions can be joined at rhody.webex.com. If you have not joined a WebEx session before, you will need to download a small extension that will enable you to hear and communicate with the instructor.

New topics in March include:

* Creating a Video clip Intro for Your Sakai Course

* Creating a Syllabus in Sakai

* A Guided Tour of Sakai

* Making an Automatic Table of Contents in Microsoft Word

* Google Slides

A topic faculty might also find interesting is “Creating an Assessment for In-Class Presentations in Google Forms.” This session will demonstrate how to create a Google form that will simplify grading student presentations.  Learn more.

WordPress Help Clinic

ITS also offers WordPress Help Clinics on most Wednesdays (excluding holidays or days when URI classes are not in session) from 10 to 11 a.m. in the Surge Building Computer Lab, Room 202. There is no need to pre-register. Just drop by with your questions. Please visit the URI WordPress Users Forum at http://web.uri.edu/wpusers/ for details.

As always, if you would like a particular Google, Sakai or other Training Topic taught to a group, contact Mary Fetherston at (fether@uri.edu) to schedule.
