High Performance and Research Computing
A group of faculty – Angelo Lucia, Joan Peckham, Yang Shen and Ying Zhang – has been working with CIO Garry Bozylinsky on improving support for research computing. The team is working with research faculty and administrators to create a High Performance and Research Computing Center at URI. The Center would be a vehicle to consolidate research computing investments along with unused server cycles to improve faculty research, both funded and unfunded, as well as serve undergraduate and graduate students through use and instruction. The team is also serving as the academic task force for the revised Academic Plan. This task force will create action statements to implement the strategy to “develop high performance computing initiatives to facilitate research.”
If you are not part of the High Performance Computing group and are interested or have any questions or suggestions regarding research computing in general, please contact the CIO at email@example.com.
