If you wish to purchase your VoIP phone from a source other than Media and Technology Services, you are free to do so as long as you select one of the URI-approved Cisco models listed below.
The software level must be compliant with Cisco 7.1 Call Manager. We can not help you if your phone does not work with our system.
To get information about the phone, Google: Cisco Model Number. For example, Cisco 7911.
- Your VoIP phone is an asset owned and maintained by your department, just like your computer.
- You can move your VoIP phone to any other active VoIP phone jack within your department, and your phone number remains the same. You don’t need to request a work order.
- If you are moving to a new department and wish to keep the same phone number and/or the same phone, both departments must come to an agreement regarding ownership of the phone number and/or the phone. Your new dean or department head must request a work order to accomplish either and to transfer billing to your new department. The request with details can be sent to: firstname.lastname@example.org
