Biography

Rick Armstrong MS, HFS, CSCS, is the Internship Director and Associate Teaching Professor in the Kinesiology Department at The University of Rhode Island in Kingston, RI.  He holds a MS in Kinesiology from The University of Rhode Island and a BS in Applied Exercise Science from Springfield College.  He has over 10 years of experience training individuals in all settings including Div. 1 athletics, health and wellness, and law enforcement.  He is a certified Health Fitness Specialist from the American College of Sports Medicine, and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist from the National Strength and Conditioning Association.  His interests include strength and conditioning, biomechanics, and youth physical activity.  Rick was a collegiate baseball pitcher and is still involved as a coach at the high school level in RI.  He is currently the NSCA State Director for Rhode Island.
