Jiangping Cai

Biography

Jiangping Cai is an Associate Teaching Professor of Chinese for the Chinese Language Flagship Program and the Department of Modern and Classical Languages and Literatures. She has taught both beginning level and advanced level courses in Chinese language and literature at URI, including CHN 413 High Technical Chinese, CHN 401 Topics on Chinese Culture and Civilization, 113H, 112(H), 111(H), and CHN 102 Elementary Chinese. Prior to joining the Department, she had served as a visiting lecturer of Chinese through the Confucius Institute at URI. As a CI Instructor, Cai Laoshi has also taught Chinese to elementary and middle school children at local RI schools.

Before coming to the U.S., Cai Lasohi worked for a year as a Chinese Instructor at Ain Shams University in Cairo, Egypt, where she taught novice level to advanced level Chinese.

Ms. Cai’s goal as a teacher at URI is to help other students explore the Chinese culture and to help them become engrossed in the Chinese language, as well as expand her own professional and academic career.
