Search Savvy Seminars – Spring 2016

Welcome to the new semester! The University Libraries has planned another semester of Search Savvy Seminars based on your requests.

One theme among previous requests has been interest in a session on scholarly publishing. As we plan this session, we would appreciate your input on what you’d like to learn more about. This two question survey will help us immensely:

If you have anything you’d like to see for the Fall, please feel free to email Amanda Izenstark at

These are introductory courses, introducing the topic and main uses, and the sessions are open to the entire community. Please share these with your students and colleagues.

Managing Citations with RefWorks
The RefWorks reference manager helps you efficiently collect research, manage and share citations, and build bibliographies. The Microsoft Word plug-in allows you to sync your citations and seamlessly insert them into your work. (If you’d like assistance in installing the Word plug-in, please bring a laptop with you to this session.)

Scholarly Publishing
Feedback from previous sessions indicates that many in the URI community are interested in learning more about scholarly publishing. This session will cover some of the roles the library plays in helping you find, organize, share, and archive your research, but we also want to hear about your more specific interests. Shape this session through a two question survey at
