Masters’ student studies coastal community members in the Dominican Republic
Through the support of a GFDD and FUNGLODE Fellowship, Hilary Lohmann (MAMA) is spending part of her summer (2014) in the Dominican Republic collecting data for her Masters’ Thesis. Her thesis is investigating the vulnerability of coastal community members to changes associated with variations in climate. To collect her data, she is conducting structured surveys of community members in three Dominican coastal communities: Boca Chica/La Caleta, Samana, and Montecristi. Hilary will return to URI in the fall (2014) to write up her findings and finish her Masters’ degree. For more information about the Fellows program, please visit http://www.drfellowsprogram.org/.
