MAF professor appointed to Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary Advisory Council

Prof. Tracey Dalton was recently appointed to one of the two primary Research Seats of the Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary Advisory Council (SAC).  Established in 2001, the SAC is a community-based advisory group consisting of representatives from various user groups, government agencies and the public-at-large, including the fishing community, divers, whale watching companies, teachers, boaters, business people, and scientists.  SAC  members meet 3-4 times per year to deliberate on issues related to the Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary and its management, and to provide advice to the Sanctuary Superintendent.  Prof. Dalton will serve on the SAC for a three-year term.  Her first official SAC meeting is scheduled for March 12, 2014 in Rockland, MA.  You can learn more about the Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary and the SAC at http://stellwagen.noaa.gov/.
