(Level 1 – 2015)
As a fermented foods and healthy eating active living (HEAL) practitioner working in our community I’ve learned quite a bit about the art of cultivating life. From my experiences I have learned that diversity is a gift that necessitates nuance. I’ve noticed that diverse groups of people often lack a common language and understanding from which to organize, which can result in conflict. The language and philosophy of Kingian nonviolence has been particularly powerful in my life. My goal is to bring that language and philosophy as a common grounding in multifaceted communities. I am seeking nonviolent training as a means to accomplish the broader mission of ensuring a just food system. I would like to facilitate the creation of thriving urban communities where folks are free to heal, reflect, and live love out loud.
