I have dedicated my life to my family and teaching. My husband and two children have been my strongest supporters. I spent 32 wonderful years teaching middle school science and training teachers. My mantra is, to “teach others”, you must first establish a trusting relationship. My life changed forever on December 14, 2012 during the Sandy Hook massacre, as I was teacher in Newtown. Through my work with the RI Coalition Against Gun Violence that I learned about the URI Center for Nonviolence & Peace Studies. The tools of nonviolence will help me to prevent violence in our society.
