Daily Schedule

Peace ClockMonday – Check-in begins at 8am

WEEK 1 of Level I

Most days at the Institute follow a basic schedule of 9AM – Noon, Lunch from 12 – 1, 1 – 5. There may be some adjustments as necessary depending on the training needs each day.

Monday – Welcome, Orientation, Introduction, Overview, Goal Setting

Tuesday – Thursday – Interactive Kingian Nonviolence Core Training

Friday – Debriefing, large & small group activities, Deep study of Kingian Nonviolence concepts & workshop content

7:00 – 9:00PM – Daily Evening Programs with films, guest speakers, conversations & discussions

Saturday/Sunday

9:00AM – 12 noon – Level I Certification Content Assessment

Saturday afternoon & evening – NO scheduled training. Free time to enjoy beautiful RI

Sunday – No training. Enjoy RI and surrounding areas

WEEK 2 for Level I follows WEEK 1 M-Th scheduled times

Monday – Thursday of Week 2 is comprised of practiced “teach backs” where participants are coached in how to deliver the Kingian Nonviolence training modules to others.

Level II Advanced Training

Monday 8:00AM-9:00AM – Check in for Level II

Each day will be a combination of  learning experiences with Dr. Bernard LaFayette, Jr., Gail Faris, and Kazu Haga, focusing on leadership, organizing, & mobilizing in nonviolence.

Schedule will be 9 – 5:00PM daily with an hour lunch. Evening programs are 7:00-9:00PM daily.

Friday for both Level I & II – Wrap-up & Closing Ceremony

9:00 – 12 noon – Future Planning & Final Reflections, Institute Review & Evaluation

12:00 – 12:45PM LUNCH

1:00 – 3:00PM – Certification & Closing Ceremony with Friends & Family

Reception follows.

NOTE: The Institute is an intensive training experience with specific training requirements and time commitments. To maximize learning, participants are expected to respect the daily time schedule, and to be prompt and on time for all sessions, and to avoid personal schedule conflicts leading to less-than full attendance and engagement.
