The following information tells you how to get to The University of Rhode Island from these airports.

FROM T.F. GREEN AIRPORT (PVD)

PVD is the nearest airport to the University of Rhode Island. It is about 24 miles away. For domestic flights, T.G. Green is the best choice.

You may request a pick up and drop off to the PVD airport with your detailed flight information. Please make your request to the Center office at least a week in advance so we may arrange transportation.

FROM BOSTON LOGAN AIRPORT (BOS)

BOS is the second nearest airport to The University of Rhode Island (URI), located about 90 miles north of URI. If you land at BOS, take the free Silver Line bus to Boston South Station. There you can take an Amtrak Train to Kingston, Rhode Island. It takes about 1 hour from Boston South Station (BOS) to Kingston, Rhode Island (KIN). You are recommended to reserve a train ticket earlier, if possible, to reduce the price. Here is the Amtrak website for reservation: https://www.amtrak.com/home

You may request a pick up and drop off to the KIN Amtrak Train with your train information. URI is 5 minutes away from KIN station. We DO NOT pick up from Boston Logan.

FROM JFK AIRPORT, New York (JFK)

JFK is about 170 miles (274kms) away to The University of Rhode Island (URI). If you land at JFK, you can either 1) take Amtrak Train from New York Penn Station (NYP), or 2) take Mega Bus from New York to Providence, Rhode Island.

1. For Amtrak Train from New York Penn Station to Kingston, Rhode Island station, take a shuttle or taxi from JFK to New York Penn Station. Take related Amtrak from NYP to KIN. It takes about 3 and half hours from New York Penn Station (KIN) to Kingston, Rhode Island (KIN). You are recommended to reserve a train ticket earlier, if possible, to prevent the price hike. 2. For the Mega Bus from New York City to Providence, Rhode Island you have to reserve a bus ticket. Here is the website for Mega Bus reservation. https://us.megabus.com/ You have to take a shuttle or taxi from JFK to New York City and board your Mega Bus to Providence. It takes about 4 hours by bus from New York City to Providence, Rhode Island. From Providence Rhode Kennedy Plaza Bus Station, take RIPTA Bus # 66 to The University of Rhode Island. It takes about 1 hour from Providence Kennedy Plaza Bus Station to URI.
